Yeah ME!

I've hit the 2,000 mark!  Actually I'm a little over it.  I know it's not a lot to someone who has a super popular blog, they probably see 2,000 page views a day.  But I consider it an accomplishment that I have now had over 2,000 page views.  Go Me!  LOL

In other news, I am learning to play the cello!  I've been wanting to learn for a while, and I'm super excited!  I borrowed a student cello from school to get started, and if I stick with it I may ask for one for Christmas.

It is a project of mine and Chris's...I'm going to play the cello, and he will learn to play the violin.  I was teasing him today because I've now started, and he is so far behind.  He keeps saying he's going to surprise me with how much better he will get than me.....doesn't he know I do this for a living?!?!  Hahaha.  I've been playing for a day, and I'm halfway through the book.

Anyway, it's something we've always wanted to do together....maybe he will start sometime soon, and we can play duets together (yeah....we're that couple)

In string related news...here are two people you have to check out!!!

My Baptism

Today I renewed my commitment to Christ and got re-baptized.  It was a wonderful experience, and I'm so glad I did it.  My husband and mom came to support me.

It was a little chilly, but the warmth I felt with my church family surrounding me was amazing.  I feel re-newed, and re-born.  I am loving this church so much!  I am so glad that I found this new church family to become a part of.

UpDate

I know I haven't posted in a while but I've been really busy with the start of the school year.  I really enjoy going back to work, but it can be a bit crazy for the first few weeks.

So, what have I been up to?

I colored my hair...hello natural brown, long time no see :)

Chris and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary!
We went out to dinner, watched a movie, and spent the whole day just being together :)
I know, awwww :)

I painted my nails (gel polish) to match my anniversary outfit.

It was raining so I wore my FAVORITE shoes!  My brown cowboy boots, they are starting to fall apart I wear them so much.

I helped Chris trim the bushes on the side of the house.  And by help, I mean I watched :0)
Actually I really did help a little.....just a little.

I spent some quality time with my baby :)

I got a gift from Park Lane for being a fashion director for 3 years.  It's a nice gift, especially since I dont really sell that much :)

I channeled my school spirit and came up with this cool mani!

Made friends with a baby bunny.

Spent some time with Chris's grandmother...this is the albino frog that lives in the indoor pond at Glen Meadows.

There was an awesome dragonfly outside my portable at school one morning.

My September Birchbox came in the mail!  I am super excited about my new hair tie!

Sold some stuff at a yard sale....I made $50, not too bad!

This is my current mani, and maybe my favorite!

I'll try to post again soon, right now I'm enjoying a Wednesday off :)

It's the Simple Things

It's the small things in life that make it wonderful.
I got to spend some time with my baby niece today at a bridal shower for my to-be sister-in-law.

I love shower's!  Everyone gets dressed up, the food is wonderful, you get to see people you don't get to see often.  Stories are shared, smiles are given, love is spread.
Women love to tell stories and share life experiences.  Sometimes the advice is unsolicited ;) and sometimes it's helpful.  I love hearing women tell stories of when they got married, or when their babies were little.  You can see the scenes re-playing in their eyes as they remember that event, that feeling.
Story-telling is something that we, as humans, have always done.  It is a time honored tradition that I am proud to take part in.

On another note.....I really need something (someone) else to take pictures of.  My hubby isnt exactly photogenic, that leaves me and the dog.  I'm not going to lie and say that 'I'm not vain', cause I kinda am...I admit it.  But I also just really like playing with my camera....cant wait till I get a good one!  Maybe Christmas :)

Is he a dog?

I dont know what goes on in the mind of animals.  Maybe some think while others simply survive, we may never know.  But when it comes to our pets, the domesticated dogs and cats of the world, have we turned them into little furry people?

Seriously, its something I think about often as I watch my dog to the strangest things!  Yesterday he spent almost an hour looking for his bone. (which, as it turns out, he ate! lol)  When my husband leaves to go to the store, he will sit by the door and wait for him to come home.  He has days where he feels "needy", he wants to be next to you at every moment.  Then there are other days where he will spend the whole day upstairs by himself.

Gizmo (my pomeranian) likes to sleep in.  I get up several hours before my husband does. (He owns his own business, and works from home, so he makes his own hours....he is a night own)  Gizmo doesn't get up with me, he waits until Chris is up.  Even today, the bedroom door is open, he can come down whenever he wants....he waits until Chris is up to come down and go outside.

He likes to have his picture taken, but doesn't like the flash.  He will sit perfectly still (most of the time) while I take his picture, or in most cases, several pictures.

He brings mouthfuls of food to the room we are in.  He doesn't like to eat alone in the kitchen, he wants to be where the action is.  He amazes me all the time.  And for now at least, he is my little baby.
