Grey with Black tips

Gave myself a new manicure...I'm getting my nails done for the wedding on Friday, so I wanted to change things up one more time before then.  I love this grey color from China Glaze, called Recycle.  You can't even see the re-growth from my gel mani!

I then added a black tip using scotch tape and Sinful Colors Secret Admirer.

recording studio

This is my make-shift recording studio....isn't it fancy!!!  I was practicing for my sisters wedding (Ave Maria) and decided to do a little recording as well.  It works for what I use it for.  I am new to GarageBand, I used MixCraft on my Dell.  So far, I like MixCraft a little better, although I can hear my own voice through my headphones in GarageBand which is a huge winning point!

China and Sin over Gel

I came across a few thin paint brushes in my "craft bin", and I thought they would make good nail polish brushes...I was right!

I painted on top of my Gelish manicure.  I taped off half the nail and painted China Glaze For Audrey on 4 of my nails, and Sinful Colors Dream On, on my ring finger.  Then I used my thin paint brush to paint on the thin stripes (much easier on my left hand then my right).  Topped it all of with Seche Vite!

And a picture without the flash...so pretty :)

Pink Leopard Print

I am really loving the current state of my nails...the purple is really pretty, and the gel polish is looking very nice.  But, alas, I feel the need to add a little something...call it boredom....whatever :)
Here is my before picture, I got the gel nail polish 5 days ago.

I got a tip from another Konad stamper that you can mix your Konad polishes with other polishes to give you a larger variety without having to buy all the different Konad nail polishes....what a wonderful idea!   Now why didn't I think of that?

I used my silver Konad polish and mixed it with Sinful Colors Dream On.  I really like this Sinful Colors polish, and its pretty cheap, only $1.99.  It has the quality of OPI, and the price of Wet N Wild.

Add a blob of silver to the Konad plate, then add a blob of Dream On, mix together (I used a pointed Q-Tip to mix the colors).

I read about a roll on, roll off technique with the Konad stamper....it works a lot better than press on, press off!!!  See below...

All clean!!!  Add two coats of Seche Vite, and the look is complete!  Love the look!  Just what I wanted...a little touch of something pretty and different :)

Picture without the camera flash, its really more of a pink color than purple.

New Gel Mani

I got a new gel mani today!  I really love this pale purple color I chose!  It's so pretty, and when I get lighter colors, its easier to paint over when I get sick of it in a few days.

I also got my toesies done....the color is pretty close....close enough anyway (I don't get gel polish on my toes...its a waste of money)

Fishnet and Glitter!!!

I had to change it up again....I am beginning to think I have nail polish issues LOL!
Anyhoo...how beautiful is this color be China Glaze!!!  I don't know the name of the color, the sticker on the bottom fell off.  It dries with a matte finish...really beautiful color, these pictures don't do the color justice!

I added a little shimmer (I've been dying to see what this glitter color looked like...its Full Spectrum by China Glaze.

I finished off with a black fishnet with my stamper.  It would be an understatement to say that this particular stamp was a pain in my ass.  You can see the many "not-so-perfect" spots.  I may end up fixing the nails that are truly crappy...but not tonight.

Seche Vite...the glossy finishing touch!  So loving the gel polish (yes I still have that pale pink underneath), it makes my polish stay on longer, and look how long my nails are!!! (This is pretty long for me)

May Birchbox

My May (and first) Birchbox arrived!!!!!!!

This is a very exciting time!!!  I love getting packages (who doesn't), and this package has a bunch of really cool stuff!!!  It's $10 every month, and every month you will get a new box of samples personalized just for you!!!

This month's Birchbox is Gossip Girl themed....love the show!

You get a little card that expanse what you got, and how much the full-size would cost you (you are getting sample sizes in your Birchbox)

This month I got some Ojon Volumizing Shampoo, Dr. Jart + BB Cream (I'm new to this type of product....I don't wear a lot of creams because I tend to be plenty moisturized without), Color Club Disco Nap nail polish, and.....my most exciting product.....Algenist Eye Cream!!!!!  This cream (a full size tub) would cost $65!!!!  The sample size I got will last me quite a while, a little bit goes a long way.  I am always looking for a good eye cream....I hate my eye circles!  This cream is thick, and you don't need a lot, just a dab...it feels good on, soothing....very excited to see the results after a few days/weeks!

Tiger Stripes

I decided to try a new design on my nails...what can I say, I get bored easy.  And besides...I have a new toy...I have to play!!!

After removing my other design (with non-acetone, so my gel polish stays on) I painted my nails a neutral color...China Glaze Love Letters...then used Borghese Stellare Notte (I love this color) with my stamper.

Then using my white french tip stickers I added a tip also using the Borghese Stellare Notte....then I topped it all off with Seche Vite....loving this look!!!

Gel Nails and Konad Stamping

So I got myself a mani and pedi last week for my sisters bachelorette party weekend...I love having my nails perfessionally done, they look so much better!!!  I got the gel nail polish... I've had it before, and I really love the look...plus they last so much longer!

Such a pretty color!!!  I got the same color on my toesies...not gel, but a matching color from OPI.
My weekend was very eventful...stripper poles and everything!  LOL!!!
Needless to say my mani got a little cracked....see my pointer and middle finger.

I got my nail stamper in the mail before I left, and I was very excited to use it...plus I wanted to see how it worked over my gel manicure.  But first I had to fix the cracks in my nails...I didn't have a color that matched exactly, but this Orly color was close...Who's Who Pink....so much better!!!

I ordered my nail stamper off Amazon...I got the stamper and scraper from Konad.  I used the scraper at first...a lot of people suggested a old plastic gift card because the scraper scratches the image plates.  I didn't have any trouble with the scratching, but I do like the gift card better.  The scraper removes too much polish...personal preference.

I also ordered 3 Konad nail polishes....you can try polish you have at home, and it may work depending on the design and desired look, but these are thicker and work a little better.

I ordered 25 different image plates from Bundle Monster...and the start to my nail stamping adventure was complete!!!

This was the image plate that I decided to use...I used the geometric square pattern.  You brush nail polish on the silver plate, remove the access polish with a scraper or gift card, stamp the image plate, and transfer the stamp to your nail....its really that easy.  I got it on the first try...no trouble at all  :)

Ta-Da!!!  See....got it on the first try!!!  Yippy!!!

First color complete...I liked it, but I wanted to do more...so I did the same design (at a different angle), I used the silver Konad polish.

Awesome!!!  But I really wanted to see how the stamp worked with the none Konad polish....it took a few tries, but I found one!  It works pretty nice with Sally Hansen 10 Day No Chip, Always Amithist (on a side note, this polish is pretty old, and does not last 10 days...it doesn't even last 3)  The thicker the polish the better it works....that's why old polishes are a good option.

Time to clean up around the edges...

It's a pretty messy process...make sure you protect your surfaces...a small paper plate works well.  Also, make sure you clean the image plate a bit after each stamp.

Add a top coat and you are ready to roll.  I used my trusty Seche Vite....beautiful!!!
